For tattoo artists and studios

Tattoo software for consultations and long sessions

Uply Meet is tattoo software for booking: clients book a short consultation from your link, you book the long session once the design is agreed, and both appointments get reminder emails and a private link to reschedule.

It keeps the calendar honest for artists who mix 30 minute chats, hour long flash pieces and full day sessions booked weeks ahead.

Deposits are not built yet Coming soon. Uply Meet takes no payments today, so keep taking deposits the way you do now.

The booking page your clients see

Most new clients should start with a consultation, so it comes first on your page with a clear description. Flash and small pieces can be booked directly, and longer sessions can be listed for returning clients who already have a design agreed.

The page only shows starting times that fit the whole session plus your setup and clean-down, so a 3 hour session is never offered at 5 pm on a day you finish at 6.

Consultations first, sessions second

Custom tattoos rarely go straight from a message to the chair. The tattoo presets start with a 30 minute consultation that clients book online, where you talk through the idea, placement, size and budget.

Once the design is agreed, add the session to your calendar yourself from the dashboard, or send the client to the session service on your booking page. Either way the 3 hour block, plus 15 minutes to set up and 30 minutes to clean down, is protected from double booking.

Long sessions without collisions

A double-booked consultation is awkward; a double-booked six hour session ruins a day for two people. In Uply Meet, two bookings that overlap for the same artist cannot both be saved. The database enforces it with a PostgreSQL exclusion constraint, so when two clients click the same Saturday at the same moment, one booking is saved and the other client is offered the nearest free times.

Multi-session pieces such as sleeves are booked as a series of separate sessions. Each one gets its own reminders and its own reschedule link, and the full day preset is there for the big days.

Booked weeks ahead, reminded close to the date

Tattoo sessions are often booked weeks out, and that is exactly when people forget. In healthcare studies, a long lead time between booking and appointment was one of the most commonly reported predictors of a no-show (Dantas et al., Health Policy, 2018). Those studies measured clinics, not studios, but artists know the pattern; one wrote about clients not showing up "on $900 tattoos" (r/TattooArtists).

Each booking gets an appointment reminder by email 24 hours and 2 hours before. You choose how far ahead clients can book, 60 days to start with, and the cancellation notice they must give, so a session is either kept, moved early enough to fill, or sorted out with you directly.

Deposits and age checks: what is coming

Most studios take a deposit before a long session. Uply Meet does not process payments today, so keep collecting deposits the way you do now. Deposits for each service are planned Coming soon.

The same goes for booking form questions, such as confirming a client is of legal age or asking for reference images Coming soon. Today the form asks for a name, an email, an optional phone number and an optional note, where clients can describe their idea in a sentence or two.

Tattoo software or a general scheduler?

General schedulers can handle consultations but get awkward when one artist offers several kinds of appointments. Calendly's free plan includes one event type, and its automated reminders start on the Standard plan at $12 per seat per month billed monthly (calendly.com/pricing, prices checked October 25, 2026).

On Uply Meet's Free plan, consultations, flash and sessions are separate services from day one, with two email reminders per booking, for up to 100 online bookings a month. The calendly alternative page compares the two in more depth.

What a tattoo artist pays

A solo artist can start on Free with one calendar and 100 online bookings a month; the cap counts bookings, not hours, so a long session counts once. Pro removes the cap and the badge, adds client notes to keep track of ideas and placements across sessions, and lets you rewrite reminders. A shop with several artists uses Studio: $20 a month for two artists plus $8 for each extra. Every price is on the pricing page.

  • Free$0, 100 online bookings a month, 1 bookable staff member
  • Pro$12 a month, or $9 billed yearly, 1 bookable staff member, no monthly booking cap
  • Studio$20 a month for 2 staff plus $8 for each extra staff member, or $15 plus $6 billed yearly

Tattoo studios: questions and answers

Can clients book a consultation before a session?

Yes. The tattoo presets include a 30 minute consultation that clients can book online. Once you agree the design, book the session yourself from the dashboard or let the client book the session service.

Can I take tattoo deposits?

Not yet. Uply Meet does not process payments today. Deposits for each service are planned and marked Coming soon on this site.

Can I ask clients to confirm their age when they book?

Not in the booking form yet. Custom booking questions are planned and marked Coming soon. Check age and ID at the studio as you do today.

How far ahead can clients book a session?

60 days by default. You can change how far ahead your calendar opens and how much notice clients must give before booking.

What happens if two clients try to book the same slot?

Only one booking is saved. The database rejects any booking that overlaps another for the same artist, and the second client is offered the nearest free times instead.

Do clients get reminders for sessions booked weeks ahead?

Yes. Reminders are sent 24 hours and 2 hours before the appointment, however long ago it was booked, and the confirmation email includes a calendar file clients can add to their own calendar.
