An Acuity Scheduling alternative with a free plan
Uply Meet is an Acuity Scheduling alternative for spas, massage therapists, barbershops, nail, lash and tattoo studios that want to start on a $0 plan. Acuity does not offer a free plan: its own FAQ says "Acuity doesn't offer free appointment scheduling at this time", and paid plans start at $20 per month for one calendar. Uply Meet Free costs nothing for 1 bookable staff member and up to 100 online bookings a month, with email reminders included.
Acuity is a capable tool with three plans and plenty of options, and for many businesses it is worth the price. The question is whether you need those options yet. This comparison uses the official Acuity Scheduling pricing page, read with both the monthly and the annual toggle on 25 October 2026. All Acuity prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes, as their page states.

What Acuity Scheduling does better
An honest list. If any of these matter most to you, Acuity Scheduling may be the right choice.
Text message reminders
From the Standard plan, Acuity can send text reminders as well as email (their page notes that availability depends on the country). Uply Meet sends email reminders only. If your clients ignore email, that difference matters.
Room to grow on one plan
Standard covers up to 6 calendars and Premium up to 36 for a flat monthly price. A team of five pays the same $34 a month as a team of two. Uply Meet Studio adds $8 a month for each staff member after the first two.
More built-in options
Acuity's three plans list features that Uply Meet does not have yet, text reminders among them. If you already rely on a specific Acuity feature, check that we have it before you move.
No surprise fees
Acuity's FAQ promises no set-up, cancellation or support fees on top of the plan price, which is a fair promise and one we also keep: Uply Meet has no extra fees either.
Where Uply Meet is the better fit
A real $0 plan
You can run a solo studio on Uply Meet Free with no time limit on the plan: 1 bookable staff member, 1 booking page, up to 100 online bookings a calendar month and email reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before each visit.
A lower price for one person
Pro costs $12 a month, or $9 a month billed yearly, with no monthly booking limit. Acuity Starter costs $20 a month, or $16 billed yearly.
No logo on paid plans
On Pro and Studio your booking page carries only your brand. At Acuity, hiding their logo is a Premium feature.
Simple by default
Services, staff, hours, days off and reminders are the whole setup, and you can share your link and QR code as soon as the page is published.
Who should pick which
Pick Uply Meet if
- You are a solo therapist, barber or artist and want online booking with reminders without a monthly bill.
- You want a short setup: services with prices, working hours, holidays and a link to share.
- Your clients are fine with email reminders and a reschedule link.
- You want your own brand on the booking page without paying for a top tier.
Stay with Acuity Scheduling if
- Text message reminders are a must for your clients.
- You have a team of four to six, where Acuity Standard's flat $34 a month for up to 6 calendars costs less than Uply Meet Studio.
- You depend on advanced scheduling options that Uply Meet does not offer yet.
Monthly cost by team size
Acuity charges by plan, and each plan holds a set number of calendars. That makes it good value for a team of four to six on Standard, where $34 a month covers everyone. Uply Meet Studio costs $20 a month for two staff and $8 for each extra, so it costs less than Acuity for a team of two or three ($20 and $28 against $34) and more for four to six. For one person, Uply Meet Pro costs $8 less per month than Starter, and the Free plan costs nothing.
| Bookable staff | Acuity Scheduling | Uply Meet |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $20 | $12 |
| 2 | $34 | $20 |
| 3 | $34 | $28 |
| 4 | $34 | $36 |
| 6 | $34 | $52 |
Is there an Acuity Scheduling free plan?
No. Acuity's own FAQ answers the question directly: "Acuity doesn't offer free appointment scheduling at this time, but you can use the free trial to test out our scheduling software before committing to a paid version. No credit card required." If you searched for Acuity Scheduling free, what you will find is that 7-day trial.
The trial is useful for testing, but at the end of it you need to pick a paid plan. If your goal is to take online bookings without a monthly cost while your business is small, a tool with a permanent free plan is the better match. That is the main reason people look for an Acuity alternative.
Getting the most out of the Acuity Scheduling free trial
If you are comparing tools, run the Acuity Scheduling free trial and a Uply Meet booking page side by side for a week. Book a few test appointments on each from your phone, as a client would. Check how long setup took, what the confirmation email looks like and how easy it is to move a booking.
Then look at the price you would pay at the end of the month with your real team size. Our appointment booking software stays free for one staff member up to 100 online bookings a month. Acuity starts at $20. With two or three staff, Uply Meet Studio costs less; with four to six, Acuity Standard costs less on list price. The pricing page shows the full Uply Meet plan details so you can do the math yourself.
