A Booksy alternative with a free plan and no commission
Uply Meet is a Booksy alternative for barbers, massage therapists, nail, lash and tattoo artists who want online booking and reminders without a monthly bill to start. Booksy costs $29.99 a month plus tax, and $20 a month for each extra team member. Uply Meet Free costs $0 for one staff member and up to 100 online bookings a month; Pro is $12 a month with no booking limit.
Booksy puts booking, marketing tools and card payments in one place, and that bundle is useful for a shop that uses all of it. If you get most of your clients yourself and mainly need a booking link and reminders, you can pay a lot less. Figures here come from the official Booksy pricing page for the United States, as it read on 25 October 2026.

What Booksy does better
An honest list. If any of these matter most to you, Booksy may be the right choice.
Optional marketing for new clients
Booksy offers Boost, an optional marketing feature. You pay a one-time fee only for clients who book you for the first time while Boost is turned on. Uply Meet has no marketing feature of this kind, so new clients come from your own channels.
Marketing messages included
Booksy plans include 2,000 free marketing text messages a month for your own promotions. Uply Meet does not send marketing messages at all, only booking emails.
Payments in the same app
Booksy takes mobile and keyed-in card payments for 2.69% plus $0.30 per transaction. Uply Meet does not take payments today, and deposits are Coming soon.
A 14-day trial
You get two weeks to test Booksy with real clients. Our paid-plan trial is 7 days, although the Uply Meet Free plan itself has no end date.
Where Uply Meet is the better fit
A free plan to start
A new barber or artist can take up to 100 online bookings a month on Uply Meet Free, with email reminders, for $0. Booksy starts at $29.99 a month after the trial.
Less per month at any size
One person pays $12 on Pro against $29.99. A team of four pays $36 on Studio against $89.99 on Booksy, and each extra staff member adds $8 on Studio against $20 on Booksy.
No commission on any client
Uply Meet never takes a cut of a booking, new client or returning. Your price does not change when you get busy.
Your own link, your own clients
Clients book from a page with your name and services, and the booking data stays yours. Clients can reschedule or cancel from their email without downloading an app or creating an account.
Who should pick which
Pick Uply Meet if
- Your clients find you through Instagram, Google or word of mouth, not paid promotion.
- You want to cut a fixed cost: $29.99 a month is a lot for a booking link and reminders.
- You want clients to book without installing an app or making an account.
- You run a team of two to four and want the bill to stop growing after the fourth person.
Stay with Booksy if
- Boost reliably brings you new clients and the one-time fee is worth it to you.
- You use marketing messages to fill quiet days.
- You want card payments in the same app today.
Monthly cost by team size
On list price, Uply Meet costs less than Booksy at every team size we checked, before Booksy's sales tax. That is not the whole story: Booksy's price includes marketing messages, optional Boost marketing and card payments that Uply Meet does not offer. Compare what you would actually use.
| Bookable staff | Booksy | Uply Meet |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $29.99 | $12 |
| 2 | $49.99 | $20 |
| 3 | $69.99 | $28 |
| 4 | $89.99 | $36 |
| 6 | $129.99 | $52 |
What Booksy costs as your team grows
Booksy's FAQ is simple: "Booksy costs $29.99 per month, plus $20 per month for each additional team member (+ tax)." For a solo barber that is $29.99. Two barbers pay $49.99, three pay $69.99 and four pay $89.99, before tax. There is no cap, so a larger shop keeps adding $20 per person.
Booksy's Boost marketing is optional. In Booksy's words, if you use it "you'll be charged a one-time commission for clients that book you for the first time while Boost is turned on". The fee is 30% of that first visit, up to $100. If you keep Boost off, you pay the subscription only.
Do you need paid marketing for new clients?
Paid promotion helps most when you are new in an area and your calendar has gaps. It helps less when your book is already full of regulars, or when new clients come from your own posts and referrals.
If that sounds like you, a simple barber app that clients open from your link can do the job for a fraction of the cost. Uply Meet sends each client a confirmation with a calendar invite and two email reminders, and you see the whole day in one calendar. Run both for a month and compare how many bookings each actually brought in.
